Japanese Course Level & Description

Be introduced to the Japanese writing system: hiragana, katakana, and kanji. Learners will practice how to use computer to write Japanese. Starting from the middle of the course, learners will begin practicing kanji.

New kanji characters will be introduced in each lesson and learners will focus on mastering a set of kanji characters in each lesson. In addition to speaking and listening practices, learners will start developing their reading and writing skills. Learners will learn to read and write short letters and have their writing personally reviewed by the instructor.

Learners will practice making a questionnaire, writing a report based on a survey, writing a journal, and writing a thank-you letter. Learners will also read longer passages, learn a lot more new vocabularies, and continue to build their reading comprehension skills.
